Doomsday Preppers

Oh My Golly. Have you seen Nat Geo’s newest show, Doomsday Preppers? Check it out here http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/doomsday-preppers/

Holy snockerdoodles these families are the hottest. They are prepared for a megaquake, economic collapse, global pandemic, a 2012 cataclysm, nuclear war, solar-flare-induced power failures, and an extreme oil crisis any of which can lead to the unraveling of society.

One group, who lives in the home constructed of shipping containers, says they have enough food canned and stored to last fifteen years for twenty-two people. In the event of some disaster I want to be their friend. I looked in my kitchen cabinets today and based on what they say on the show, if we have some cataclysmic disaster I should be able to last one or two days.

Everybody, even the children, know how to handle weapons, from bow and arrow to AR -15’s. They have escape routes, know how to purify water and live off the land.

What about you? How would you do in a post-mega crisis world?
